Let’s explore the history of Re:generation, a Christ-centered discipleship ministry dedicated to finding new life through a relationship with Jesus. Whether you came looking for healing or a deeper walk with God, this journey is designed to bring transformation to every area of your life.
Life change never happens in isolation. We are designed to help one another. Our ministry is built on a specific vision: that life change happens best in authentic community.
We aren’t meant to struggle alone. Instead, we help one another live out God’s plan for our lives by working through biblical principles together.
Re:generation is a 12-step discipleship ministry focused on Christ. The goal is simple: to grow in your relationship with God alongside a community of others. As participants walk through the curriculum, grow closer to God, and share in small groups, they find that healing naturally begins to follow in all aspects of their life.
The formula is simple, but it isn’t exactly easy. It takes time and dedication, as you experienced on your own re:gen journey. Our mission is to walk with others as they learn and apply biblical principles in an authentic community where they can be totally honest, transparent and vulnerable with others.
This is what creates the environment for them to find freedom and a new life in Christ.
While we are excited to have this ministry at NLC, it didn’t start with us.
Re:generation was originally developed by Watermark Community Church in Dallas, Texas, where it has been active since 2013.
After seeing the impact there, along with the life change we saw in our pilot group in 2018, New Life Church officially kicked off our own Re:gen ministry in 2019.
The name ‘Re:generation’ carries a powerful double meaning. Primarily, it means ‘new birth’. However, the colon is intentional—it also stands for ‘regarding’ or ‘concerning’ a generation. We are a people who have been given new life by God, and we deeply desire to share the freedom, love, and joy we’ve found with this entire generation.
The foundation of Re:gen at New Life Church is built on personal transformation. In 2018, we took a group of future leaders through the curriculum.
They came wanting to learn the mechanics of REGEN, assuming their primary role would be helping those struggling with addiction and other life challenges. But they quickly realized – they needed this ministry too. Every one of those leaders ended up finding healing in their own lives as they prepared to launch this ministry for our church.
Walking through your own healing creates your personal testimony of God’s goodness and that testimony provides hope for the next person.
While we don’t believe you have to share the same struggle to guide someone toward freedom, we do believe we are meant to use our own healing to guide someone else toward theirs. Ultimately, though, it’s all about Jesus.
It’s the re:gen ripple effect. Acknowledge your own struggles and allow God to bring you personal healing. Share your experiences as you walk beside others in a community of discipleship.
Then GO!
Share your freedom, your hope, your love, your joy with others so that they may desire the same freedom in Christ!
We are incredibly excited to have Re:generation at New Life Church because we have seen firsthand that God does transform lives.
We are even more excited that you have chosen to continue to be a part of this community and share your hope and freedom with others.
